The FUTURE FOCUSED TRAINING SERIES by Creating Chances provides you with the skills to deliver activities to foster positive youth development.

  • WHERE: Fairfield Youth and Community Centre, 55 Vine Street, Fairfield NSW 2165

What does the program involve?

Over the two days, you will learn techniques to facilitate activities for young people that will equip them with the tools to lead positive change in their lives. During these TWO days of fun and learning we will cover the following topics:

• Applying effective facilitation techniques

• Engaging the Potential of Young People

• Developing positive relationships with Young People

• Identifying essential ingredients to designing and delivering meaningful activities

• Designing and delivering sport for social change games

Day 1 Thursday: Enabling young people to explore their maximum potential

A highly engaging and interactive workshop, with mixed-level energy activities, that will provide you with a powerful platform to connect with a variety of professionals, exchange ideas and learn from experts in youth development and education.

This workshop will provide you with the tools to:

– Develop a better understanding of Positive Youth Development

– Design and deliver interactive and meaningful workshop activities through principles of experiential learning

– Develop creative solutions to facilitate learning

– Create a safe space and develop positive relationships with Young People

Day 2 Friday: Social and emotional learning through Sport

Learn from experts in sport coaching and sport for social change in an innovative and practical workshop utilising sport for social change, game design principles as a way to develop a young person’s social and emotional intelligence.

This workshop will provide you with the tools to:

– Understand the Sport for Social Change approach

– Understand the concept of using a player-centred approach

– Identify the role of a Life Skills through Sport facilitator

– Designing and adapting Life Skills through Sport activities

• works with, or is interested in working with, young people from diverse backgrounds

• wants to develop their skills in building more meaningful relationships with young people

Parents, teachers, community leaders, youth workers, sports coaches, educators or TAFE/university students, everyone is welcome!
