At Creating Chances, we’re dedicated to transforming the lives of young people through sport-based, evidence-backed programs designed to foster personal growth and community engagement.

Our mission is simple

We exist to inspire, develop, empower and equip young people to realise their potential and drive positive change. We partner with schools, community groups, the private sector and philanthropists to help young people achieve their life goals.

Youth Development Pathway

Our flagship program, the Creating Chances Youth Development Pathway, developed with the University of NSW, builds confident, capable, and future-ready students.

Evidence-based programs

Through a blend of sports-based activities, we create a unique and safe space where young people can develop essential skills, explore post-school opportunities and grow as individuals.

Our reach across Australia

With a dedicated team of expert facilitators, we reach thousands of students from over 100 schools and organisations annually, making a meaningful impact on their lives every day.

Afaf Ayache

School Engagement Coordinator and Head Facilitator (Canterbury-Bankstown)

Afaf is an experienced Head Facilitator who brings her passion and curiosity to classrooms and sports fields across Western Sydney and Far West NSW.

Assmaah Helal

Chief Operations Officer

As Chief Operating Officer at Creating Chances, Assmaah specialises in connecting ideas and people to achieve social impact and transformational outcomes for youth and communities.

Driven by social justice and youth development, Assmaah specialises in operations, program design, project management, and community engagement. She’s also the co-founder of the Global Muslim Women in Sport Network.

Brad McCarroll

Chief Executive Officer

Brad leads Creating Chances by connecting stakeholders in education, community sport and private sector to achieve meaningful, long-term impact.

Brad has driven positive change in corporate and community sectors at Macquarie Bank Sports and Australian Rugby Union before establishing Creating Chances. He is the High Performance Manager at NSW Sports High School Association and previously lectured in Sports Management, at UTS, ACPE and ACU.

Daniela Chiew

Director

Daniela is a Director at Creating Chances, bringing 25+ years of experience in tax advisory and compliance services.

As a Partner at KPMG, Daniela advises multinational and not-for-profit groups. Her expertise in regulatory matters helps guide Creating Chances in ensuring compliance while empowering youth for a brighter future.

Dr. Anne Bunde-Birouste

Director

Dr. Anne Bunde-Birouste is a Director at Creating Chances, with an extensive career in public health, youth empowerment, and social justice.

“As the Founding Director of Football United, Anne is a global advocate for using sport as a tool for social change. With extensive experience in health promotion, her leadership helps drive Creating Chances’ mission to empower youth through innovative educational and sports programs. “

Elizabeth Boachie

Community Engagement Coordinator and Head Facilitator

Once a partipant at Football United, Elizabeth loves supporting young people into work, delivering innovative programs and establishing pathways.

Ellis Cleaver

School Program Operations Coordinator

Ellis is our Programs Coordinator, keeping information flowing through all operations and coordinating with teachers and staff to make sure all our programs are running smoothly.

Ellis provides logistical information on current programs, the status of grant completion from a programmatic perspective, insights into future programs and schedules, and guidance on navigating our current administrative systems.

Jayme Fressard

School Engagement Coordinator and Head Facilitator (Central Coast)

Jayme is a Head Facilitator and School Engagement Coordinator, combining her elite sports career with transforming the lives of young people.

A standout NRLW star with the Sydney Roosters, Jayme completed a Diploma in Community and Social Work to underpin her love of sport with meaningful outcomes for young people.

Joseph Tau

Pacific Waves Specialist

Joseph drives the Pacific Waves program forward at Creating Chances with purpose, care and “alofa”.

An experienced community worker, school chaplain and student support officer, Joseph brings a background in high performance sport, and unmatched energy to school programs, staff training and to help young people navigate the journey.
