Arezo Women’s Leadership Program

In November and December 2022, Creating Chances and Football United will be hosting the Arezo Women’s Sports Leadership Program supported by Migration Council Australia and the University of New South Wales.

The 4-day leadership program will select 20 Afghan female emerging leaders in sport across Australia.

The program will provide emerging female leaders a sophisticated learning experience with access to expert facilitators, professionals, and develop skills to expand their network, create pathways to further education and employment, and opportunities to lead change in their community.

The University of NSW Australian Graduate School of Management Building is the perfect venue for meetings, conferences and events combining contemporary training facilities with executive accommodation. This superb training and executive education centre is designed to inspire you to learn and interact in a vibrant, modern and innovative environment.

Application Selection Criteria

  • Emerging female leaders, aged between 18-30 years old
  • Must reside in Australia
  • Afghan cultural background
  • Committed to contributing to the community
  • Experience working or volunteering in a community sport
  • Display leadership traits such as communication and collaboration
  • Interest in developing leadership skills
  • Willing to share your own experiences and knowledge through a range of activities
  • Available for the duration of the program and be able to communicate via internet leading up to the program
  • Commit to ongoing communication and contribute to the network after the program
  • Strong English communication skills

 

Participants will be inspired and explore goals and ambitions through a series of workshops, key note presentations, and game design activities.

 

Participants will be guided through a self-reflection process to develop self-awareness as well as conflict management and growth mindset activities. Participants will participate in mentoring and networking activities.

Participants will apply a human-centred design-thinking process to inspire action to promote sport and wellbeing in their communities.
