Margie Andreason

Employment Pathways Coordinator and Head Facilitator

I’m a teacher from a family of teachers with wide experience in Sport for Development and Careers. I really enjoy the way Creating Chances gives me the opportunity to combine my love of sport with teaching young people of all kinds critically important life skill concepts that otherwise don’t have a place in the regular education system. I am certain that every young person has the potential to contribute positively to our world and love to see them given the belief in themselves and then the opportunity to do so.

Creating Chances is proud to be developing a genuine employment pathway for participants who understand what we do and can see themselves continuing our work and I am coordinating the School-Based Trainee program as part of that. I also still do some Head Facilitation in my local area of the Illawarra.

I am almost endlessly curious and am excited to learn. I love seeing new places and the animals that live there with my own eyes, so traveling is a passion and reading a lot helps me understand more of the world around me and my place in it. I’ve lived in Sweden and learnt the Swedish language and for fun I love bodyboarding, snowboarding and playing all sports.

I try to be as engaged as possible with social justice issues for marginalised and disadvantaged groups and want the world to be a better place for all the world’s animals and people.

    Margie recommends:

My role at Creating Chances is to create an environment for our students in our School-Based Trainee program to thrive.
