HIGH SCHOOL PROGRAM SUITABLE FOR: YEARS 7 – 10
One team, one goal, one job, one love
Pacific Waves program aims to equip young people with the coping skills to navigate through life’s challenges as well as inspiring them to contribute to their community and pursue further education and careers.
This program has been designed to encourage Pacific young people to learn more about themselves: their personal strengths, cultural and family values so that they can improve their self-awareness, self-confidence and build positive relationships with their peers, family and teachers.
Led by highly trained Polynesian Facilitators, this program uses sport, art, food, performance, capacity building workshops and the local context to better understand one’s sense of self, and to demonstrate and celebrate culture and community.
PROGRAM STRUCTURE:
Participants will attend a weekly double period, 90min sessions over 8-9 sessions per term across the year.
The themes include:

- Term 2: Empower and Equip
- Term 3: Equip and Execute
- Term 4: Execute

TARGET GROUPS
Pacific Waves is targeting up to 25 young people per group, aged 12-15 years (year 7-10).
Young people from all Pacific Island diaspora across the three major sub-regions of Oceania (Micronesia, Melanesia, and Polynesia) are encouraged to participate.
