NSW Training Awards see Creating Chances SBAT's take the win
Creating Chances trainees work one day a week, with the aim of completing 100 days over the two years of year 11 and year 12. They also study a Certificate III.
Callum and Harrison study Sport & Recreation through the Australian Training Company. Chelsea studies Sports Coaching as a face-to-face subject at her school.
This year Chelsea, Callum & Harrison were nominated and progressed as finalists for the NSW Training awards, with Harrison taking the win for the Illawara & South East Region.
Having the ability to undertake an traineeship with creating chances has opened so many more experience and opportunities for me, it has not only motivated me to see the positive change in the participants from the programs that we run but also in myself.Being able to attend NSW training awards is a big achievement and being able to come out as a finalist is huge.

Margie Andreasson is the Manager of Creating Chances’ SBAT program. She has supported the trainees progress from their very first interview to the completion of their required 100 days. Across this time, the growth Margie has seen is robust and a testament to the commitment of these inspiring young people.
"I'm the one person in our organisation who gets to know the SBAT's across their whole journey with us, as I receive and read their applications and interview them and then help guide them over the whole two years to graduation. Through their employment with us, the SBAT's constantly work in new settings of different schools and with new people. This has grown their confidence immensely and they takes these challenges in their stride.A trainee takes the chances provided to them with both hands as they say yes to every opportunity, work hard, be excellent, reliable communicators whilst remaining kind and friendly to both the staff and students they work with."
