Castle Hill High School Becoming Life Ready

Creating Chances facilitators deliver Life Ready Curriculum at our Wellbeing Day for 370 students.

Life Ready Wellbeing Days With CC

Our fantastic facilitators have delivered Creating Chances’ biggest Life Ready Wellbeing Day yet, ensuring the students at Castle Hill High School are ‘Life Ready.’ With a huge 370 total students in attendance, our Facilitation team, guided by our Schools Coordinator Ellis Cleaver, had to be incredibly organised and hit the ground running!

Life Ready is a mandatory 25-hour course designed to prepare and support senior students as they become more independent and gain more responsibilities for life post-school. Alongside Head of Wellbeing at Castle Hill HS, we co-designed the program to ensure that it is relevant to senior students.

Sessions were structured in our classic stations format, with groups of 20 students rotating between different stations, each one led by a different member of our 20-deep facilitation team. It was awesome to see these senior students engage in thought-provoking discussion, apply creative thinking strategies and get amongst the sports activities, as they embark on their journey through their final years of high school.

With the activities being a mix of dynamic and reflective exercises taking place both indoors and outdoors, the students were able to explore Life Ready curriculum-aligned life skills in a range of ways, identifying key messages and ways to apply these skills throughout the day.

These included:

“I’ve really valued it. I've enjoyed watching the students gain some important skills, skills that I know that they need and skills that we would like to give them. I feel like Creating Chances has come in and made those things fun, and made them approachable. The wellbeing side of stuff has been great for us to see the kids get engaged in.”

Thanks to our experienced and committed facilitators, students left the program equipped with a range of life tools that will help them not only during their remaining time as students at Castle Hill High School, but equip them as they look ahead to their lives beyond school.
