At Creating Chances, we believe in the power of women to inspire, lead, and create lasting change. One example of our commitment to providing women and young women with leadership spaces is through a recent Wellbeing Day at Bankstown Girls High School, ran by a dynamic team of female facilitators.
The day was designed not just as a break from routine, but as a celebration of the unique strengths, talents, and aspirations of every girl in attendance. Our female leaders, facilitators, and trainees brought their passion and expertise to every activity, creating a safe and supportive environment where students could explore their potential and build confidence.
Throughout the day, students participated in a range of interactive workshops focused on personal development, resilience, and leadership. From mindfulness exercises to team-building challenges, each session was crafted to encourage self-reflection and foster a sense of belonging. Our facilitators shared their own journeys, highlighting the importance of perseverance, self-belief, and community support.
The day had just as much impact on the students as it did our team. Head Facilitator Elizabeth was a participant in our programs and now plays an integral role at Creating Chances, inspiring the youth she works with.

Our organisation is proud to be led by women at every level. Women make up 58% of our workforce, 56% of our Board, and 60% of our leadership and management roles. This representation isn’t just a statistic—it’s a reflection of our values and our ongoing commitment to fostering an inclusive, safe, and supportive workplace for women.
The theme of inclusivity and impact is deeply woven into the fabric of our team. One of our youngest members, School-based Trainee Charlotte, expressed it perfectly: “Seeing the positive impact I can have—especially among the girls—fills me with pride in both myself and my work.” Her words embody the core of our mission: to create empowering environments where girls and young women can flourish today and in the years to come.
The Wellbeing Day at Bankstown Girls High was more than just a single event—it was a catalyst for ongoing growth and connection for girls and women inside and outside of our program. Students left with new skills, stronger friendships, and a renewed sense of possibility. Our team left inspired by the energy and ambition of the next generation.
As we celebrate International Women’s Day, we reaffirm our dedication to supporting girls and young women in every community we serve. By investing in their wellbeing, leadership, and dreams, we are building a brighter, more equitable future for all.
