Callum's Story
Callum is a vibrant 17 year old student at Narromine High School and proud Wiradjuri man. Passionate about creating opportunities, Callum values honesty, openness, and respect for everyone’s ideas.
Deeply involved in the community, he has held leadership roles across multiple sports. First and foremost, Callum works with Rugby NSW through our collaborative Rugby Tackle Life program and across their regional junior competitions. He has also experiences with the Indigenous Basketball Association (IBA), and guided younger kids at the local swimming club. Completing work experience with Boys to the Bush has further equipped Callum to contribute effectively to different environments.
Actively participating in Creating Chances programs at school, he enjoys collaborating with Rugby NSW coaches our Facilitator team to engage young people in sports. This experience has enhanced his understanding of community involvement and the positive impact of sports on youth development.
In July 2024 Callum was one of only six Australian participants selected for Sport Dans La Ville’s International ‘Sport for Good’ Festival24, Callum brought strong leadership skills to the festival delegation, developed from his time mentoring primary students for NSW Rugby Union in Narromine.
Callum is currently sharing the opportunities Creating Chances provides with their school and community, highlighting the positive impact and possibilities for young people.

“I love meeting, working with, and learning from new people and my peers. Participating in Festival24 in Lyon,France, was an incredible opportunity I had because of my traineeship. It has allowed me to engage Narromine High School and the community even further with the amount of opportunities Creating Chances offers young people.”
